當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間10月5日，美國(guó)歷史學(xué)會(huì)（American Historical Association）公布了2015年度獲獎(jiǎng)名單，頒獎(jiǎng)典禮將于明年1月7日在亞特蘭大舉行。其中，國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)界較為關(guān)注的費(fèi)正清獎(jiǎng)（The John K. Fairbank Prize）花落新奧爾良洛約拉大學(xué)（Loyola Univ. New Orleans）的Rian Thum，作品為T(mén)he Sacred Routes of Uyghur History（Harvard Univ. Press, 2014）。該書(shū)認(rèn)為，通過(guò)追溯漫長(zhǎng)的地方宗教和文化傳統(tǒng)，才能對(duì)維吾爾族人的歷史形成較為真切的理解。它利用了察合臺(tái)和波斯的文獻(xiàn)、當(dāng)代維吾爾族小說(shuō)、涂鴉以及民族志田野調(diào)查，以揭示歷史的復(fù)雜面貌。去年該獎(jiǎng)授予了哥倫比亞大學(xué)歷史系教授查爾斯?K.阿姆斯特朗（Charles K. Armstrong）的《弱者的專制：北朝鮮與世界，1950–1992》一書(shū)。

據(jù)洛約拉大學(xué)官網(wǎng)介紹，Rian Thum是學(xué)考古出身，2000年在密蘇里大學(xué)獲得學(xué)士學(xué)位，曾做過(guò)敘利亞、羅馬尼亞和中國(guó)的學(xué)術(shù)項(xiàng)目。后在哈佛大學(xué)從事內(nèi)亞和阿爾泰語(yǔ)方面的研究，主題是新疆維吾爾族人的歷史，2010年獲得博士學(xué)位，目前擔(dān)任洛約拉大學(xué)人文和自然科學(xué)學(xué)院助理教授（Assistant Professor）。

值得注意的是，該名單還包括約翰·E·奧康納電影獎(jiǎng)（The John E. O’Connor Film Award），獲獎(jiǎng)影片是《為奴十二載》（2013）和紀(jì)錄片The Ghosts of Amistad: In the Footsteps of the Rebels。
