編者按：主題為“寒假”的澎湃第五屆寒暑假征稿活動正式啟動至今，我們收到了不少小畫家、小作家們的作品。孩子們用文字、圖像、視頻，展示了他們眼中的寒假生活，接下來作品會陸續(xù)刊登。

今天刊登的是來自ValeyVast 英語俱樂部的Elina小朋友的投稿。她在作文里描述了火車站春節(jié)回鄉(xiāng)的人，哈爾濱冬季的冬泳和冰雕還有每年春運期間的摩托車回鄉(xiāng)大軍的故事。讓我們起來讀一讀她的作文吧。

作品：《Chinese New Year around the world》

Chinese New Year is a traditional festival. It is on lunar January first.

It is the most important festival for Chinese people, just like Christmas in the west. All the people living away from their hometowns go back. Railway stations are crowded with people going home. For some people, the Chinese New Year is the only holiday they have. In Beijing, there are some people called Red Caps, they help people load their luggage on the train.

In Harbin, people embrace sub-zero temperatures. During the winter months, some people go for winter swimming. Winter swimming is a sport for the brave people. You need to have some resilience. Every year people in Harbin use ice to make an ice city. Every year there are different themes. The ice castles are all made of ice. 12500 tons of ice are cut to build the ice city. In the evening, the lights in the ice bring the city to life. It looks flawless and high technical. People put the LEDs in the ice and use the water to make two ice blocks stick together.

Every New Year in China, thousands of motorcyclists go back home by motorcycles. They don’t take the plane, because they don’t have enough money.

During Chinese New Year, everyone celebrates with their families and have a delectable dinner together. But this year, because of the coronavirus, we didn’t have dinner together. Although we didn’t have dinner together, our hearts are still together.
